It may be a glowing beacon to the aspirational and motivated from the farthest reaches, but to maintain this appeal the capital in turn needs the perspective and hope that newcomers bring. It’s a cycle of creative energy. Photographer CG Watkins and Masses magazine editors Sacha Quintin & Eric Diulein each arrived in Paris as outsiders and were drawn to it for different reasons, much like Carol Lim and Humberto Leon. For KENZO they have created a series based on a young country guy, dreaming of Paris from afar, showing how culture from the Big City can be interpreted and re-created.
